Not my personal pick.....

I'm a Chevrolet Corvette!

You're a classic - powerful, athletic, and competitive. You're all about winning the race and getting the job done. While you have a practical everyday side, you get wild when anyone pushes your pedal. You hate to lose, but you hardly ever do.
Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

The aftermath....

Well, it's *mostly* over. We had the services and wake on Friday, and Saturday.
Nearly a thousand people attended the services, with the "after-party" had nearly 800.
I'll explain the family terminology here... Our "services" tend to be more of a wake. People show up at the funeral home for the immediate family. I got to be second in line for that. :(
The "wake" is really more of a party. The family rents a hall, provides food and non-alcoholic drinks. The food is usually supplemented by close friends of the family.
I know several folks, my father and brother included, who were rather drunk when we left the "wake".
My biggest fear is one of my cousins, the middle son of the family, is heading down the same path of his dad. He needs help, and threatens to kill anyone who suggests so. He threw on of the guests, his brother-in-law, up against a wall and made the threat in the middle of the "wake".
And - on a side note - after the week I've had, and what I've eaten, it's diet time again. Maybe on Monday.....

A vent, a release....
Mar. 22nd, 2007 | 01:00 am
location: Hoime, in bed.
mood:
depressed
music: Pink Floyd - all of it.
Well, after the past three days of crying, I need to vent somewhere other than the places I have been, so my every-so-slightly used LJ gets the nod....
As some know, on Sunday night, I get a call from my dad. My uncle had just killed himself. Shot himself in the head, in front of his wife, and two youngest sons.
*sigh*
My uncle has been battling mental illness for the past 5 or so years. Bi-Polar, Paranoid schizophrenia, and hardcore depression. All unmedicated, due to his refusal to take meds.
His two sons, 18 and 16, are very, very much like him. His daughter, 20 now, was our flower girl. His eldest son 23, just had a baby girl.
So, I shouldn't be surprised that it happened. I should be glad he didn't harm anyone else. I should be glad that the rest of the family, myself included, can now move on, not having to constantly look over our shoulders.
Then why aren't I? Why have I been crying for the past three days? Why can't I come to grips with this?
Then, to top off the week, we find out that my cousin (moms side), who has been fighting off cancer, lost his fight, and died Monday morning. THEN - Monday night, we find out that another cousin from the my dad's side died of a massive heart attack.
Christ. And people wonder why I'm agnostic with atheistic tendencies?

Yay! Even though it's been two weeks, the diet is gone, alone with the cottage cheese ass and thighs! :)
So, I think it's time for a Longhorn run, and their chocolate cake dessert!
Split with the kids, of course! >.>

I do believe, that, for the first time in my life, I'm going through a emo episode! It may be the diet, or meds from pneumonia, or a combo of the two, but...
